Being a vegetarian in Brest no longer means settling for just a green salad at a restaurant! Whether you’re a daily vegetarian, a vegan, or simply curious to discover a different way of cooking, there are several great spots in Brest that are worth checking out.
And here's some good news: even when not everyone at the table is vegetarian, it's easy to find a restaurant that everyone can agree on.
Aurélie's Top Tip: La PAM
If there’s one place I particularly love to recommend, it’s without a doubt La PAM, in downtown Brest, just a few minutes from the Ty Brestoise.
More than just a restaurant, it’s a true hub of activity housed in the former printing workshops of the Ouest-France newspaper. It has a unique atmosphere—a bit artistic, a bit offbeat—with students, remote workers, families, and many Brest locals who come simply to enjoy the place.
The venue features a variety of spaces: a bakery, a bookstore, a bar, a coworking space, exhibitions, concerts… and, above all, a wonderful selection of dining options.
Les Maraîchers: La PAM's Vegetarian Restaurant
Located in the heart of La PAM, the restaurant Les Maraîchers offers an entirely vegetarian menu made with organic and locally sourced ingredients. The menu changes regularly depending on the season and the chef’s inspiration.
Even the biggest meat-lovers often leave pleasantly surprised!
BEAJ KAFE: The Must-Visit Brunch Spot
For a light lunch, brunch, or a tasty treat, BEAJ KAFE is a sure bet.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with charming upcycled decor. The menu features bowls, open-faced sandwiches, quiches, and delicious homemade pastries, with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.
It's also a popular place to work or simply take your time.
Kafé Kanggui: A Culinary Journey Guaranteed
This charming little spot offers cuisine inspired by Africa and Asia, with many vegetarian options.
A great way to discover new flavors in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Le Jardin de Gwenn: Perfect for Weekend Brunch
Known for its generous brunches, Le Jardin de Gwenn showcases local and seasonal ingredients.
The perfect spot for a gourmet Sunday.
What if not everyone is a vegetarian?
While some members of the group may prefer meat or fish, several restaurants in Brest offer authentic vegetarian dishes—not just a stopgap solution.
The Winter Garden
A great spot in the city center where you can regularly find sophisticated vegetarian options. The atmosphere is pleasant and perfect for both couples and meals with friends.
ALÉ
This creative restaurant updates its menu with the changing seasons and often has delightful surprises in store for fans of plant-based cuisine.
Mount Lebanon
Fans of Lebanese cuisine will be in for a treat: hummus, falafel, eggplant caviar, tabbouleh… there’s something to satisfy everyone at the table.

Hearty, home-style cooking where vegetarian dishes naturally find their place throughout the seasons.
